Fortune, Tell Her!

"Fortune, Tell Her" is a multimedia installation exploring the feminine position in relation to media production and consumption. Originating as a research based thesis project at Parsons School of Design, "Fortune, Tell Her!" looks at the history of girls and future telling forms of gameplay that reflect the commercialization of girl culture. Utilizing the cootie catcher and the fortune teller as thematic forms, this project delivers modern media discourse under the guise of antiquated physical forms.

"Fortune, Tell Her!" is work of gender, media, and identity. By reclaiming girlhood and its commercialization within themes of familiar and playful interactions, "Fortune, Tell Her!" delivers a space to recognize conscious media consumption in relation to the feminine self.
